I always tend to buy translucent powder as that’s what works for me. I find coloured powders can look ‘cakey’ on me. Before I go on – if your skin tone is darker than medium, I would probably go for a coloured powder instead. Illamasqua have ten shades in this product.
I honestly have fallen deeply in love – this powder is beautiful. It’s finely milled and so soft. It feels so light on the skin. My skin is actually quite dry but my nose can get shiny by the end of the day. I used this powder to set my foundation and to help keep the shine down.
Today was a real test for this powder, as I have been out in the sun most of the day. I was expecting to come home to a shiny nose, however my skin looked as matte as it did when I first applied the powder to my skin. Amazing!
If I could pick out a flaw – it would be the smell. It has a very strong smell of vanilla. Others might like it but I just found it too much. Also – after reading reviews a few people mentioned their skin was left irritated – due to the fragrance perhaps. I, too, suffer from sensitive skin and my skin has been fine.
Would I buy this again? Absolutely!
