Contouring, Strobing and Baking Explained!

There is a lot of makeup terminology out there which can confuse the best of us. There are three techniques that everyone is talking about at the moment

CONTOURING is the technique used to create definition. It’s giving shape to your face and enhancing your facial structure such as higher cheekbones, slimmer nose, smaller forehead…

STROBING literally means highlighting. It’s all about giving a fresh and youthful glow to the face. So you would look to highlight areas where the light would naturally hit your face such as above cheekbones, brow bones, centre of your head…

BAKING (yes, I did type baking) is a method similar to highlighting. Translucent powder is applied and allowed to sit on your face for 5 to 10 minutes, which allows the heat from your face to set your base foundation and concealer, and then dusting it off your face, leaving you with a creaseless, flawless finish.
